When the Cambian Group purchased seven schools and colleges previously managed by The Hesley Group, it bought into the expertise that these schools had been offering local authority clients and parents for 30 years. Since 1975 these establishments had been educating and caring for children, young people and adults on the autistic spectrum in autism-friendly and quality environments, using knowledgeable staff and proven methods of approach to their students’ difficulties. Cambian Education Services, as the seven establishments are now known, has continued to build upon the strength of the group.

Our teachers and specialist care staff are joined by an extensive clinical team with expertise in Behavioural Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, and Art Therapy. In 1996, we achieved the prestigious Investor in People award and have retained the award every year since.

Cambian continues to attract the best teachers and care staff. We have extensive training and accreditation programmes. Cambian is proud of our record of retaining and promoting some of the most talented teachers and specialist care experts in the industry.

Today, Cambian works with over 70 LEAs. We have embarked upon an extensive programme of upgrading our facilities and classrooms. We are providing more recreational activities, amenity space and investing in Information Communication Technologies for our students and our staff.
